Cebu Pacific’s Juan Effect CAMPAIGN Launches in Siargao
with JUAN EFFECT ADVOCATES Erwann Heussaff, Kyle ‘Kulas’ Jennerman, and Jasmine Curtis-Smith
On January 11 and 12, 2019, The Juan Effect campaign launched in Siargao with two days of busy activity all in the effort to make travel to Siargao more responsible and sustainable.
Siargao is considered Conde Nast Traveler’s 2018 Readers’ Choice Awardee for the Best Island in Asia.
Cebu Pacific is the first airline to fly in the island, operating for ten years.
Now, there are an increasing number of local and foreign tourists, with a total of 12 daily flights a day. Cebu Pacific itself flies once between Manila & Siargao and four times between Cebu & Siargao.
CEB uses the ATR 72-600 fleet, which has the lowest environmental footprint and fuel consumption in its category.
Juan Effect Siargao Program
On day one, the program of the turnover of 45 waste bins and tourism police’s fat bikes. The event is joined by Benny Antiporda, DENR Usec, Cong. On the second day, a colorful mural painted by artist Anina Rubio was painted on Dapa Elementary School, featuring a turtle in an effort to make locals and tourists more conscious about protecting our natural resources, particularly our rich underwater life.
The launch of the mural was joined by Juan Effect Ambassadors Erwann Heussaff, Jasmine Curtis-Smith and Kyle ‘Kulas’ Jennerman.
Make a Pledge
Cebu Pacific invites travelers to make a pledge and change at least one habit and stick to it in order to help preserve the environment.
The pledges are not difficult, and each ambassador made their own public pledge in their own simple way:
Erwann: “Always bring my own water bottle”
Jasmine: “Bring an eco bag wherever I go”
Kulas: “Dispose of my trash properly”
