With Christmas just a few days away, Christmas tree lighting ceremonies are happening everywhere. Parklane International Hotel takes Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremonies a notch higher with their Christmas Tree made out of recycled materials.
Christmas Tree Lighting has been a tradition at Parklane, and every year they try to come up with a way to make this event environment-friendly. In the past years they have used materials such as recycled tin cans, cardboard boxes, and even tissue rolls. This year they designed their Christmas tree as well as the other decorations throughout the hotel using recycled hotel room amenities.
Hotel staff dedicated the entire year collecting hotel room amenities that they usually throw out such as shampoo and conditioner bottles. These were then lovingly crafted into flowers, stars, and snow flakes which were assembled to form the giant Christmas tree.
Parklane’s General Manager, Cenelyn Manguilimotan, says that it is tradition for Parklane to celebrate Christmas by taking part in caring for the environment and the community.
On the night of their Christmas Tree Lighting last November 20, 2018, Parklane International Hotel also turned over their annual funds of hope for their partner Cancer Warriors Foundation, Inc as part of their community service. This is their third year in partnership with the foundation.
Beneficiaries of the foundation even performed during the event to express their gratitude.
Other than the beneficiaries, Parklane also had local performers such as the UP Serenata as part of their advocacy to support local talent.
