Collabox: Collaborative Box Curating The Best Filipino Products

What do you want to do today?

One of the most interesting christmas gift ideas we have come across is Collabox, a social enterprise founded by a Cebuana entrepreneur April Ong Vaño.

What is ColLAbox?

Collabox is short for ‘collaborative box’, a curated box of local artisanal goods that show Filipino craftsmanship and excellence. There are two types of boxes, the food box and the non-food box.

Just like Kinder eggs, there is an element of surprise in every box--you’ll never know what you’re going to get. The contents are different and specially handpicked with care.

Collabox has been featured in national media channels such as ANC because of its innovative product and social cause. In partnership with Qrated Crates and Echo Store, Collabox launched in Octoer 2018 by introducing its ANI Food collabox on World Food Day as they aim to tackle SDG2 (or Sustainable Development Goal 2 ‘Zero Hunger’).

‘Ani’, which means ‘harvest’,is  a food box that feature some of the best Filipino artisanal goods such as chocolates from Davao, Violet Rice, Mushroom Chips and more.

“I want every box to tell a story,” shares April.

Unboxing Collabox

We did an unboxing of two Collabox boxes, the ANI and the LARGA collabox, a non-food box that feature Anthill luggage tag, headwrap, bamboo toothbrush and more.

April says that all the products in the boxes are specially selected. “The items we feature are products that we ourselves believe in,” she shares.

Here’s the clip of the unboxing of the Larga Collabox:
